The setting on my camera makes these pictures look like they're in drunk-o-vision, which in everyone's case but mine is pretty accurate.
Kim teaches Minoru to whistle with his fingers.
Big talker Kim was hesitant to grab the mic.
Mom, though, had few reservations.
Kim's forte was really dancing.
A rousing duet of Rose Garden. Or something.
It's so nature-y!
Shall we gather at the river...

Watch out for rhinos.

More fun at the castle.
The Puppet Show, with my favorite ladies in town. Nabe: a pot of boiled tastiness.

This could be my favorite picture from the trip to Nara. It reinforces my image of the swarms of deer there as slightly mangy, mentally impaired, and ready to start a deer rebellion against the tourists at any moment.
Aren't they terrifying?
This one gets fresh with Tania.
Seconds after this photo was taken the poor man was mauled by this gang of deer, which was finally beaten off by his umbrella wielding wife and daughter.
I'm coming for you.....
The Big Buddha's house in Nara.
Fuzzy Buddha.
Apparently it's good luck to squeeze yourself through this hole in the post.
Reunion with Shampy.
When your buttocks need a lift...

Kim looks satisfied after her breakfast of salad, yakisoba, and steamed bread with miso sludge.
Things they were a bloomin' in Kyoto.
This is a famous tree.
Feasting beneath the trees.
Last week I was asked to do some actual work, which really wore me out after such a long stint of mental vegetation, and meant far less time to update my pictures. So now I'm going to spill a big huge pile of Mom and Kim Visit photos and mostly let them speak for themselves. Kiyomizudera + cherry blossoms = nice.
Mom thinks so too.
She's so happy she kisses Tania's ear.
Lil' Kim.

fushimi inari shrine

Welcome to one of the most photogenic places on the planet. Here are some very delayed pictures of the grande Tour de Japon. The only outdoor garbage basket in the entire prefecture of Kyoto.
